The Remote Power Controller is a simple little kit that will allow you to "turn on" an older solid state radio such as the SB-104 or Ten Tec rigs without having to remove the power plug or unplug the 110 AC supply.

The RPC uses a 30 amp relay that is controlled by a power MOSFET. The MOSFET is in turned controlled by the front panel power switch on the radio. These older radios turn the power on to the external 110 vac power supply but did not switch the dc on or off. The switch can't handle the 20+ amps the radio demands. The RPC fixes this problem.

It's also a must have for battery operation. Due to the design, there's about a 60% savings on the coil current. So battery operation will not be compromised due to the relay coil current.

The Remote Power Controller should be housed inside a small plastic or metal box. There is no case provided with the kit.
